Nuclear Structure Group
Division of Nuclear Physics
Department of Physics, Lund University

Welcome!

The experimental Nuclear Structure Group is part of the Division of Nuclear Physics at the Department of Physics of Lund University.

The members of the group and contact information are provided on the members page.

If you are interested in doing your PhD, Masters, or Bachelor thesis with us, several projects are outlined in the positions section. The easiest, however, is to visit us to access the most actual research project.

The various experiments we are working on and international projects we are involved in are presented in more detail under research. They are performed at so-called large-scale facilities throughout Europe and the U.S. within international collaborations, and we are involved in the major future European nuclear physics project FAIR (Facility for Antiproton and Ion Research) and the respective Swedish consortium S-FAIR. Our group is responsible for LYCCA, the Lund- York- Cologne CAlorimeter.

LATEST NEWS (October 2010):
LYCCA-0 including 12 LYCCA DE-E modules and plastic ToF is running at GSI-FRS-S4!

There is also a list of publications. We have also started to put together a more popular introduction to some basics. Our educational activities are listed under courses.

In October 2010 we hosted the FAIR-NUSTAR collaboration in Lund. More information can be gathered from the SFAIR-NUSTAR website.

In June 2005 our colleagues at the department of Mathematical Physics and we celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Nilsson Model. More information can be gathered at http://www.matfys.lth.se/Nilsson.

In June 2000 we hosted Pingst 2000, an international workshop devoted to the physics of N=Z nuclei. The Pingst 2000 Proceedings are available online.
